Summer is finally here. It’s the time for exotic vacations to faraway lands or road trips to explore the USA! Or, maybe, you’re looking to keep it a bit more low key? In that case, here are some great ideas.

Campout Out Back

Don’t have time to drive to Yellowstone? You don’t have to travel far for a backyard camping trip! Set up the tents – one for the kids and one for the adults, naturally – and start enjoying the slow life. Let the kids play while you chill in a hammock with a good book. Once it gets dark, end the night gathering around a fire and making s’mores, and after the little ones are in bed we recommend a chilled bottle of Zinfandel.

Take On the House

If you’ve got the time and energy then maybe now is the opportunity to get a jump on lingering home projects? Nothing spruces up a room like a fresh coat of paint! If painting isn’t you’re thing take a weekend and redecorate a room that desperately needs a breath of fresh air. (FYI: the dark, plumy hue of our Merlot makes for a fabulous accent color.) While redecorating, why not consider sprucing up your outdoor space on a budget? Start by cleaning up and getting rid of any clutter. Pick up some inexpensive deck chairs and plant some low-maintenance plants like mint or marigolds to add a welcoming touch. Soon you’ll be hosting in style!

The Summer Cookout to End All Cookouts

Of course, now that you have an epic outdoor space you’ll need to fill it with people. Call over the neighbors and set up the projector for an outdoor movie night. Organize a laid back badminton or croquet tournament. If you’re all about the food, invite your friends for a pizza making night fueled with plenty of ice cold Chardonnay.
